Petrostar is a Brokerage and Consulting firm established in 2001 to service Ship Owners and Oil Company’s transportation requirements. Petrostar offers a personalized range of brokerage and consulting services specializing in the transportation of crude oil, clean and dirty petroleum and bitumen products. We have developed over the years an extensive network of contacts with Oil Companies, Ship Owners, Traders, Agents that enable us to provide the highest quality services to our clients.

The Petrostar Team
Alex comes from a shipping family and got his start working in the Industry at an early age. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Administration at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
Over the years, Alex has worked as a Ship broker and held various positions working for Ship Owners such as VP Chartering at Petro-Nav, member of Groupe Desgagnés and at OSG Ship Management (Canada), Inc. where he was responsible for all commercial operations for the Canadian cabotage trade on behalf of these two industry leaders.
Sal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Pace University and a Master of Science degree in Marine Transportation Management from SUNY – Maritime College.
Sal worked at Overseas Shipholding Group “OSG” for almost 40 years in various operational and commercial managerial positions. He was one of the primary architects in the formation of the Aframax International Pool. Sal retired from OSG in June 2014 and became a senior partner of Petrostar in September 2015.
